Good Practice Guidelines in the Supervision of Building Construction Work in Québec
The supervision of construction work is a significant issue for the industry, as it is a key element in ensuring the quality and safety of buildings in Québec. It also helps to give citizens confidence in these buildings and in their long-term durability.
The good practice guidelines for the supervision of construction work in Québec is a complement to the tools already offered, including those provided by professional orders.
It provides guidelines related to construction monitoring, including service contracts for the professionals involved, the development of monitoring plans according to key project stages, inspections, non-compliance management, interdisciplinary monitoring coordination mechanisms and the issuance of certificates of compliance.
The guide is intended for professionals and other stakeholders in the construction industry. It also serves to provide a methodological tool and support to facilitate the implementation of mandatory supervision of construction work and the production of certificates of compliance, as provided for in Bill 76.
The guide does not cover construction contract management, cost control, project management, site management, or site safety measures.
