Concrete Pipe

Standard BNQ 2622-126
Concrete Pipes, Monolithic Lateral Connections and Related Parts Intended for Evacuation of Sanitary Wastewater and Storm Water

BNQ 2622-126 specifies the physical and dimensional properties of precast reinforced and unreinforced concrete pipes, monolithic lateral connections, and related parts. It also defines the control and testing measures used to verify these characteristics, and includes the criteria for the classification, designation, sampling, and marking of the pipes.

This standard applies to round sections of reinforced and unreinforced concrete pipes intended for conveying wastewater, storm water, or both by gravitational flow. More specifically, it targets:

  • reinforced concrete pipes and monolithic lateral connections of a diameter of 200 mm to 3600 mm;
  • unreinforced concrete pipes and monolithic lateral connections of a diameter of 150 mm to 900 mm;
  • related parts in reinforced and unreinforced concrete.

BNQ 2622-126 was developed to serve as a reference document for conformity evaluation activities of the products targeted.

For requirements concerning the installation of concrete sewer pipes, referral to the standardized specification BNQ 1809-300, among others, is recommended.

Certification Offer

Protocol BNQ 2622-951 lays down the certification requirements, rules of procedure, and marking requirements that apply to the certification of concrete pipes, monolithic lateral connections, and related parts intended for the evacuation of sanitary wastewater and storm water in accordance with the requirements of BNQ 2622-126. This protocol is intended for manufacturers seeking to have the conformity of their products recognized by the Bureau de normalisation du Québec (BNQ), and for owners who wish to rely on the certification program BNQ 2622-126.

This certification program is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada.
